Centrepoint, ATO Building

Mann Group was assigned the internal strip out of a 10 storey office building from Westfield Design and Construction. This work was carried out as part of stage one. The complication with this project was access for the material handling. The only access was a via passenger lift to the loading dock at basement level where there is height restriction. The project was completed on time and within budget and to the satisfaction of Westfields. Following the completion of stage one strip out Mann Group was awarded stage two structure demolition. This package included the removal of all precast panels, creation of light well penetrations throughout the building, removal of redundant plant and equipment form the plantroom and asbestos hazardous material removal. The major item to consider was the structure condition of the precast panels. The methodology for handling the removal of the precast panels was carried out in a manner not to impact on the surrounding custom built cradles to ensure the precast panels supported from the under side occupants and comply with Council conditions. Mann Group methodology utilising this proved to be successful and incident free. Mann Group provided 2 cradles to ensure the critical path ways met before Christmas trade.

T1 Departures, Mascot Airport

This was a great opportunity for Mann Group to participate and work with the Bovis Lend Lease and appointed team in the exciting redevelopment of Sydney International Airport. The project comprised of demolition and preparation for structural upgrade and refurbishment. Between 40 and 60 men during the day and night shift carried out the delicate demolition over many work fronts. Many of the work fronts where in direct contact with the live network operated by SACL a strong involvement in all areas of the airport i.e. baggage handlers, customs, security, passengers etc.

Asbestos Soil Remediation , Camden

Mann Group diversity has enabled us to show strengths in other facets of demo and civil, this project was confidently awarded to Mann Group by Hansen Yuncken, and took us to semi rural Sydney (Camden). The removal of 20,000t of contaminated fill with constant testing of hazardous environmental and geotechnical works by independent consultants, also in the scope was the provisions of all environmental and protection as required for the project.

Westpoint Shopping Centre

Mann Group was awarded this challenging project by Laing O'Rourke to demolish six prestressed structural beams weighing 100 ton each. The challenge was that those beams had caused cracking to the existing surrounding structure from previous demolition work in the area, keeping in mind the work was to be carried out in an operating shopping centre. Mann Group provided the methodology engineering and sequence to carry out the demolition with out causing any additional cracking or jeopardising the structural integrity and to demolish those beams without causing any disruption to the trading shopping centre. The project was completed successfully without any delays or accident, also to the satisfaction of the Laing O'Rourke their client and centre management.

Centro Shopping Centre, Bankstown

Mann Group was awarded this project from Brookfield Multiplex, to carry out demolition of 3 level single span post tensional bridge excavation for the new car park strip out of the existing shopping centre included the removal of 6 escalators. Like any other shopping centre project, the work was to be carried out in trading hours. The project was carried successfully to the satisfaction of Brookfield Multiplex and Centro Bankstown centre management.

Auburn Hospital

Mann Group were engaged by Brookfield Multiplex to undertake a highly challenging excavation and piling package involved the major bulk excavation disposal of VENM, contaminated materials (20,000 m3) detailed excavation, backfilling, all civil works, environmental protection and geotechnical engineering that were required to be completed in preparation for building works. Mann Group also provided to the client the Design and Construct for the Piling/Shoring/Anchoring works. All works were completed successfully without any impact to the adjacent "operational" hospital.

Westpac Sydney

A dynamic and diverse project with numerous variables. This design and construct develop case Mann Group exercising its expertise and knowledge over 9 work fronts working simultaneously comprising of structural demolition, façade removal, strip-out of entire building back to the core structure, major column and core strengthening upgrades, bracing and propping, service penetrations throughout the entire building, demolition, removal of the entire level 16&15 for a new storey addition.

Overhead Bridge Westfield Liverpool

Mann Group was assigned the project to dismantle and demolish the overhead bridge for Westfield Liverpool. The major items to be considered were maintaining pedestrian access from the main car park though to the shopping areas, at all times, whilst being mindful of the safety factors for patrons, Sub-Contractors and staff. The project proved to be totally accident free. The estimated gross realisation for this project is A$110M. Mann Group trusts that its involvement provided an integral role for the project.

Sydney International Airport

Mann Group was assigned to demolish the redundant Airport Aero Bridges and Engineers Hut at Sydney International Airport to accommodate the new A380 Airbus aircraft. It was necessary to ensure the tarmac remained totally free of any refuse and safety measures were ever prevalent on this prestigious site which Mann Group maintained under the strict guidelines of SACL Sydney Airport Corporation Limited.

Canterbury Leagues Club

Like many of our projects, this was an important appointment at which Mann Group excelled. We were contracted to facilitate the major refurbishment of the Leagues Club that included the preparation/founding works for an international hotel tower as a future addition. Mann Group successfully delivered all demolition and friable asbestos removal works at Canterbury Bulldogs Leagues club to enable a $30M club refurbishment and carpark expansion project.

Australia Club

The main constraint for this high profile project was to consider the comfort of its exclusive members, which had to be exercised at all times. This project proved to be challenging, which Mann Group was again equal to. The project consisted of a 14 storey building, which was to be stripped back to structural shell, to make way for a complete internal refurbishment. The project proved to be successful without incident and detriment in an occupied premises.
